I've been involved in the sport of swimming since the age of six. I progressed from a non-swimmer to national finalist and medallist as an age-group, youth and senior swimmer, as well as a member of the GB team. My ethos is dedication, resilience, self-motivation, teamwork and striving to be the best version of oneself. I believe anyone in our community should be given the opportunity to learn to swim and gain essential water safety skills, leading to becoming a successful competitive swimmer if they wish, regardless of their socio-economic background, ethnicity, gender or identity. I coach because I enjoy engaging with young people, supporting them to fulfil their maximum potential and being part of their swimming journey.

Viki Swimming Instructor and Assistant Coach
A multiple national relay gold medallist in Poland, now a swimming instructor and assistant coach at LBHSC.
Swimming has been a huge part of my life. During my competitive career in Poland, I became a multiple national gold medallist in relay events, ranked in the top five nationally in the 800m freestyle, and achieved top-ten rankings in other events. After moving to England, I found a new opportunity to pursue my passion as a swimming instructor and assistant coach. I love being part of a club environment, sharing my experience, and helping young swimmers develop their skills, confidence, and potential. My goal is to inspire every swimmer to become the best version of themselves, grow as athletes, and develop a lifelong passion for swimming.

I have been a swimmer at LBHSC since 2019 and have competed since 2021. During that time, I have progressed to national level, competing across England and internationally in Bulgaria, while also earning Regional and County medals. As I have developed as a swimmer, I have found it rewarding to pass on the knowledge and experience I have gained by helping to coach younger swimmers and supporting them as they build their skills and confidence.

I have been connected to LBHSC, the Hurricanes, for 13 years as a parent, volunteer and now as a coach. Our small club gives us the opportunity to really get to know all our swimmers. I am very excited to return and encourage our members to enjoy their time in the water again.

I have been involved in swimming since childhood and was selected for the Tunisian National Team as a breaststroke swimmer. I joined LBHSC as an instructor in 2021, when my niece was a competitive swimmer. My daughter was also a Trustee at the club. As a family, we are passionate about swimming and believe every young person should have the opportunity to take part. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with our athletes and watching them thrive at the club.

I was previously a swimmer at LBHSC for around eight years. I joined the club as a child and competed for several years before completing my swimming teaching qualification through the club. I have now been teaching for three years. I teach swimmers across all stages, from our Learn to Swim programme and disability swimming lessons through to club-level swimmers. I love teaching and working with children to build their confidence and help them grow, both as swimmers and as individuals.

I have been a swimmer at LBHSC since 2016, competing at County and Regional level and representing Hounslow twice at the London Youth Games. With the support and encouragement I received from the coaches, I decided to give back by becoming a swimming teacher at the club and helping younger swimmers achieve their goals.

Olivia Learn to Swim Coach
Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher and former LBHSC competitive swimmer.
I hold SEQ Level 1 and Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualifications, as well as safeguarding and NRASTC certificates. I was a competitive swimmer at LBHSC for eight years and competed at the Middlesex County Championships and London Regionals. I also represented Hounslow at the London Youth Games three times and received a Jack Petchey Award. Swimming has taught me discipline and opened many new doors, including joining a rowing club and competing at the British Rowing Championships in Nottingham in 2022. I decided to become a Level 2 Swimming Teacher at LBHSC because I want to share my knowledge and passion for swimming. Swimming is an amazing sport and a fundamental skill that I believe everybody needs. I love seeing swimmers improve and reach their targets.

Nadia Administration, Project Support and Designated Safeguarding Lead
A long-time borough resident and parent with experience in administration, marketing and project management.
Having lived in the borough for many years, I have fond memories of swimming at Isleworth Leisure Centre as a child. I am excited to play a more active role in supporting the local community. With extensive experience in administration, marketing and project management, I hope to use my skills to contribute positively to both the charity and the swim club. As a parent, I am particularly passionate about creating opportunities for young people to develop their confidence, skills and sense of belonging through community and sporting activities.

Alan Smith Safeguarding Officer
Over 30 years in the leisure industry, including 25 years at Isleworth Leisure Centre and a role as Child Protection Officer.
I have worked in the leisure industry for over 30 years, including 25 years at Isleworth Leisure Centre as an Operational Manager, where I was also the designated Child Protection Officer. I have also volunteered in the management and coaching of football and rugby, while my professional role has primarily involved swimming lessons. As Safeguarding Officer for LBHSC, I bring a wealth of professional experience as well as personal experience as a parent. I understand the duty of care required within a club setting to ensure that the welfare and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults are upheld and prioritised. My role enables me to use my knowledge and experience while remaining connected to the community and working as part of a team.

Most volunteer roles need no coaching qualification. Poolside help, gala timekeeping, admin, fundraising: if you can give a few hours a month, we'll find something that fits.
