Personal bests and a regional final at the 2024 Regional Championships

Three LBHSC swimmers had a successful Regional Championships over two weekends at the Olympic pool in Stratford.

The meet opened with a 50m breaststroke personal best and fifth place, followed by a personal best and sixth place in the 50m butterfly and seventh in the 200m breaststroke. Another swimmer, ranked 30th in the 50m backstroke, swam a personal best to finish 14th and then improved her ranking in the 50m freestyle with a further personal best. Our third swimmer raced the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, finishing ninth.

On the final day, one of our swimmers went into the 100m breaststroke ranked 11th and swam the personal best he needed to reach a final of national standard, where he improved again – 1.71 seconds faster in total – to finish fifth.

Despite reduced training and pool time this season, the swimmers stayed focused on their goals. Thank you to Vantastic Removals for once again printing our swimmers' Regional T-shirts. Very well done – you did LBHSC proud.
