SE Summer Championship 2024

Alex, Lilianna & Aisha had a successful Regional Champs 2024 over the last 2 weekends at the Olympic Pool, Stratford.

Alex kicked off by achieving 5th place in 50 breaststroke with a PB. Followed by a PB in the 50 fly, placed 6th. Shortly after racing the 200 breaststroke, placed 7th.

Aisha who was ranked 30th in 50 back stormed down the 50 with a 1:57 PB elevating herself to 14th. Aisha then improved her rankings in the 50 free with another PB.

Lilianna also competed in the 50 back, off her PB but swam a much better 50 free. With further improvements in the 50 breaststroke, placed 9th.

After Alex’s disappointment in the 200 IM, due to mis-pacing the race, he turned his focus on the 100 breaststroke on the final day.

With fresh focus and determination, Alex had his sights on making the final, initially being ranked 11th. Alex performed a brilliant result, achieved the PB needed to make the finals. The final was at National calibre standard. Alex powered to further improve his PB from the heats, total of -1.71 secs improving his ranking to 5th place.

Despite the upheaval with reduced training time and inadequate pool time, we did not get distracted from the goals.

Thank you Vantastic Removals for once again printing our swimmer’s Regional T-shirts.

Very well done swimmers. You did LBHSC proud 🙌🏽 ‎

Very successful London Winter Regional

Open Age Group 11+ yrs for 3 of our swimmers, Alex, Lilianna & Leah this weekend at the LAC Alex was 1st up in the 200 breaststroke slashing 8:11 sec off his PB. Alex was seeded 41st and placed 33rd out of 46 of those fast enough to qualify at this event. On Sunday Alex again smashed his 50m breaststroke PB by 2.15 sec seeded 86th and placed 55th. Next up was Lilianna who powered to a lifetime PB in the 50 breaststroke reducing her time by 1:60sec. Seeded 55th, placed 30th out of 79 of the fastest breaststroke swimmers in London. During both afternoon sessions, Leah competed in the 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Leah’s technical ability, power and super under water breakouts did her justice by winning all 3 events she entered. Improving her heat times in all finals. The last final being the 100 back, despite winning the 50 free only 10 mins prior. All 3 swimmers performed well off the back of an intensive week at Swim Camp. Well done swimmers, you all did us proud, proving that hard work, dedication and passion equals fantastic performances.
